The Austin ISD Transition team will be partnering with the University of Texas Law School Mithoff Pro-Bono Program to host a Clinic for AISD Families. The Least Restrictive Alternatives to Guardianship Clinic provides services to help individuals explore and implement options that are less restrictive than guardianship. The clinic aims to provide individuals with information and assistance in finding alternatives to guardianship that are more aligned with their needs and preferences. These alternatives could include supported decision-making, powers of attorney, advanced directives, and other less restrictive options. These documents would benefit any student and family who need to continue to provide medical, educational, or other informed choice support.
